About Us

BCR has a long, proud history in Australia, commencing in Sydney in 1892 as a freight and customs broker, under the name of Frank Cridland Pty Ltd. One of the company’s early achievements was providing logistics services for the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Since then our experience has grown substantially and our network has expanded globally.

Long History

1892

Frank Cridland Pty Ltd starts providing local Sydney deliveries via horse and cart.

1985

Frank Cridland Pty Ltd Customs Clearance division is purchased by R Katte Customs Agency Pty Ltd and trades as Frank Cridland Ray Katte Customs Agencies.

1994

BCR Freight (Australia) Pty Ltd is founded. The letters ‘B’ ‘C’ ‘R’ originate from the initial stakeholders; Buyers Consolidated, Cridland-Katte Customs and Rob Hunter. For technical reasons Buyers Consolidated withdrew from investing in the company prior to starting in 1994 and the initial owners Ray Katte, Rob Hunter and David Katte continue to run the business today.

1995

Brisbane and Melbourne offices open.

1996

Perth office opens.

2006

BCR purchases Frank Cridland Ray Katte Customs Agencies.

2009

BCR amalgamates all branch offices with Cridland-Katte Customs and begins trading nationally as
BCR Australia Pty Ltd.
